Miami University Banking Club takes on Cincinatti!

the Miami University Banking Club had an incredible opportunity to participate in the 6th annual "Cincinnati Day." We visited both PNC and Fifth Third Bank - the two institutions that founded our organization!

Our day began early at PNC, where we were warmly welcomed to the office. We had the invaluable opportunity to hear from two panels — one featuring senior leaders and the other highlighting early career professionals. The panelists included Lisa Sampson, Jeff Thiemann, Cory Schimmoeller, Chris Belleti, Mackenzie Swisher, Andrew Wodzisz, Erin Shibley, and Zachary Sence.

A special thank you to PNC's Regional President, Warren Weber, for welcoming us to the bank and presenting to our members on financial markets. Lastly, we want to thank Jeffrey Fisher and Zachary Scheid for organizing the event and moderating the panels!

Following a productive morning at PNC, we transitioned to Fifth Third Bank, where the learning and recruiting continued. We engaged with industry professionals such as John Shea, Jonathan Lee, Sam Miller, Evan Hancock, Jay Consolino, and Joe Perry. A particular highlight was the insightful presentation by Rick Holmes, SVP and Head of Commercial Support Services. We’d like to extend our thanks to Billy Crago for organizing the visit, and to our club’s co-founder, Randy Carter, for taking the time to speak with our members!

This trip was a fantastic opportunity for our students to connect classroom knowledge with real-world practice. Thank you to PNC and Fifth Third Bank for sharing their time and expertise. This annual event is always a highlight, and we look forward to continuing the bank visits in the future!
