November 2023: The Miami University Banking Club hosts Dr. David Kelly

The Miami University Banking Club would like to thank Dr. David Kelly for speaking to our organization last night. 

Dr. Kelly is the Chief Global Strategist of J.P. Morgan Asset Management and has over 16 years of experience in the role. He is one of the most widely respected minds in economics, and is widely regarded for his ability to simplify complex concepts. Dr. Kelly’s readers and listeners routinely use his metaphors to communicate ideas to their clients.

The meeting sparked several discussions about key debates occurring in the global markets. We discussed economic tightening, modern capital allocation, and emerging technology markets. Dr. Kelly gave a unique insight into #artificialintelligence, suggesting that English could be the programming language of the future.

Dr. Kelly also provided advice on how college students can prepare to become high-quality professionals. He emphasized the value of learning to write and speak and stated that effective communication is the most important skill to develop in today’s market. He also underscored the importance of perfecting resumes and cover letters.
